Clinical Training Manager
Marcella Parrish, MA, LPC (IL), LGPC (DC)
I believe that each person already carries the wisdom of who they are. I’m interested in understanding what helps you feel most like yourself, including the moments in your day when you feel genuine, grounded, and alive. Together, we will create a therapeutic environment that allows more of those experiences to emerge and supports your ongoing self-discovery.
I’m Marcella (she/her), the Clinical Training Manager at Ida Lillie Psychotherapy and Wellness and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois and Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in Washington, DC. My work is grounded in collaboration and guided by the belief that meaningful growth happens when individuals feel deeply understood, supported, and empowered.
I am passionate about partnering with clients to clarify their goals and create lives that authentically reflect who they are. I strive to offer a safe, affirming space where growth feels natural and clients can navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion.
My approach is person centered and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. I specialize in working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, and trauma, and I am committed to supporting healing through empathy, affirmation, and consistency.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wayne State University and have completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in the Gottman Method for couples therapy.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at The George Washington University.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as the Clinical Training Manager, where I oversee learning and development. In this role, I support professional development through structured education, reflective practice, and collaborative learning, with a strong emphasis on ethical care and clinical confidence.
Specialties: mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions, couples therapy
Marcella is supervised by Sara Vivens, MA, LCPC.
