Psychotherapist

Emily Balentine, MSW, LSW

I hope to create a space for you to feel comfortable showing up authentically and without apologies.

I’m Emily (she/her), Licensed Social Worker at Ida Lillie Psychotherapy and Wellness. I know that navigating and prioritizing mental health can feel isolating and daunting. However, you are not alone. Together, we will work towards what you value. I am a firm believer in the power of knowledge, and I bring curiosity and creativity into my sessions, ensuring that we explore your unique situation in a way that works best for you. I am committed to creating a safe and affirming space for all clients, particularly those who are neurodivergent.

I am passionate about supporting individuals seeking to increase mindfulness, process grief, or may identify as an overachiever or people-pleaser. My training includes working in higher levels of care and providing full-fidelity Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and advanced trauma protocols (e.g., Cognitive Processing Therapy and DBT Prolonged Exposure Therapy). I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago and my Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and Justice from Marquette University.
